Measuring what Matters- Consumer views
The Government is committed to measuring what matters to improve the lives of all Australians. Measuring what matters will help us better understand our economy and society while informing policy making. In the October 2022 Budget the Treasurer outlined the key issues the Government is considering when looking at how to measure wellbeing and determine what matters to Australians. CHF’s Members Policy Forum in November was the beginning of our conversation about this important and significant shift in how we measure progress in Australia.
Treasury has launched a consultation process to get a better understanding of differing views on how we can better measure what matters. It can be found here https://treasury.gov.au/consultation/measuring-what-matters-2022
CHF is holding a short workshop with consumers to help shape our submission into this process. It is from 12 -1.30pm (AEDT) on Wednesday 18 January. If you would like to participate, please email admin@chf.org.au to get the zoom link. If you can’t make the workshop, please send through any thoughts you have to Jo at j.root@chf.org.au.
