#CHF Talks webinar series
Social prescribing, the emerging remedy in Australia to counter chronic health problems through support for social therapies, is to be the focus of this special #CHF Talks webinar by CHF in partnership with Mental Health Australia.
Social prescribing involves the referral of patients to non-medical activities, ranging from health and fitness programs to movie clubs and meditation.
Social prescribing is becoming part of mainstream health care practice in many countries including the UK and Canada, and small pilots are being trialled in Australia. In November 2019 CHF co-hosted a roundtable with the RACGP which produced a report and a set of recommendations to see social prescribing adopted more widely in Australia.
Hear from leading experts in this space, including international colleagues and local consumers who have seen the benefits of social prescribing first hand.
Panelists for the webinar are:
- Dr Kate Mulligan
Director of Policy and Communications
