About the presenters
Anne Curtis, Engagement Consultant – Specific Projects, Health Consumers Queensland
Anne has more than 30 years- experience working in health related organisations in Australia and New Zealand in senior consumer and community engagement, communications and project roles.
In late 2018, Anne adapted the Kitchen Table Discussion methodology to enable health services to reach into grassroots communities to hear the voice of those who may not engage in more formal consultation in relation to their health care. The process enables consumers and carers to lead consultation in their own community in a safe environment.
Since commencing this work Anne has utilised the methodology in some 25 projects for Queensland Health, Palliative Care Queensland, CHF, Australian Dental Association (Queensland), Children by Choice, Darling Downs and West Moreton PHN and other organisations. Her projects have included consultation on Talking About Ageing, End-of-Life Care and Dying, Hospital in the Home, Impact of COVID on rehabilitation and the development of a digital health consumer charter for Queensland.
Anne will focus her presentation on one of her most recent projects – High Benefit Care at the End of Life, a state-wide consultation project for Queensland Health that involved 19 Kitchen Table Discussions.
